Siddu advises CM Bommai

Mysore/Mysuru: Former CM and Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddharamaiah advised Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai not to become overconfident in handling both floods and Corona crisis alone following delay in the formation of Ministry and asked him to take the assistance of officers in dealing with the current situation.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, he said Bommai has been all alone now to look after the entire State with no green signal from the BJP High Command to pick up his team of Ministers. On the one hand unprecedented floods have ravaged several districts and on the other hand Corona positive cases were slowly increasing indicating of the possible third wave, he added. Instead of doing everything alone, the CM must take the help of officials to take up necessary steps in this regard, he said.

Expresses doubts

Siddharamaiah expressed his doubts on Bommai of bringing additional funds from the Centre to deal with the flood fury. His predecessor, B.S. Yediyurappa who originally belonged to BJP, was unable to bring the funds from Centre when similar floods afflicted many districts last year. Can Bommai, a former Janata Parivar member, bring funds from the Centre? he questioned.

Check unnecessary travellers

The former CM advised the State Government to prevent people from Kerala and Maharashtra coming to Karnataka, in the wake of outbreak of COVID  positive case in those two States. Jolly traveling must be stopped and borders must be opened only for those who are required to come here, he added.

The second wave of COVID 19 pandemic had been badly managed by the Yediyurappa Government which resulted in unprecedented positive cases and deaths in the State. Such costly mistake must not be repeated by Bommai, he added.
