Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rohini Sindhuri has warned of stern action against Private Hospitals which will try to create artificial scarcity of beds despite availability of sufficient number of beds to treat COVID-19 patients.
Chairing a meeting with Mana-gements of Private Hospitals at Zilla Panchayat auditorium here yesterday, the DC said that 50 percent of beds in their Hospitals must be reserved for Covid patients as per guidelines issued by the State Government. Details of this must be given to the District Administration daily.
“The number of Corona positive cases is increasing and none should face the situation of running from one Hospital to another in search of bed. Details of the vacant ventilators and oxygenated beds must be given to Arogya Mithra and Nodal Officer appointed by the District Administration,” she added.
The Deputy Commissioner said the second wave of COVID-19 was very dangerous and there should not be any delay in the treatment. The health infrastructure was very robust in Mysuru District and it should not get a bad name if any patient dies without getting treatment, she said and urged the Private Hospitals to join hands with the District Administration to provide good treatment for patients.
Death audit must
DC Rohini Sindhuri said that death audit must be done on the same day of patient’s death and the standard procedure must be followed by all Private Hospitals. The district administration was taking all care to ensure that there will not be any shortage of oxygen in Hospitals. At the same time the Hospitals must inform in advance regarding the availability of oxygen. Every single patient admitted to Hospital must get good treatment, she noted.
