Mysuru: Shuttler Diya Bheemaiah of Mysuru has won two gold medals in the recently concluded Yonex Sunrise All India Junior (Under-19) Ranking Badminton Tournament 2026 held at the Heartfulness Badminton Academy, Hyderabad.
Diya won the first gold medal in the mixed doubles event where she partnered Kerala’s Jorn Jason.
Later, teaming up with Haryana’s Baruni Paruswal, Diya won her second gold medal in the girls doubles category.
Diya has been training under Head Coach Arun Pemmaiah at Sports Park Badminton Academy in Mysuru, with guidance and mentorship from Senior Coach B.P. Bheemaiah, her father.
She is pursuing her 2nd PUC at Vidhyaashram and is presently undergoing advanced training at Centre of Excellence under the Badminton Association of India (BAI) in Assam.
Her outstanding national-level success has earned her the honour of representing India at prestigious international events, including the Yonex Dutch Junior International 2026 (Feb.25 to Mar. 1) and the Yonex German Junior 2026 (Mar. 4 to Mar. 8).
