Mysuru: The Institution of Engineers – India (IEI), Mysore Local Centre, felicitated Plant Genome Saviours Farmer Award winner Dr. C.N. Mruthyunjayappa on the occasion of World Environment  Day celebrations at its premises in city recently. Dr. Mruthyunjayappa is known for his fruit garden which resembles  a mini-forest with more than 300 species of native, exotic, ornamental, vegetables and  fruit plants.

Receiving the felicitation, he spoke about each variety of plants and explained them in detail through a power-point presentation. Dr. T. Shivanandappa, CSIR – Emeritus Scientist, Department of Zoology, University of Mysore, was the guest speaker.
