Dr. (Col.) L.N. Raja Memorial Legends Premier League: ‘Mysore Maharajas’ emerges champions

Mysuru: Mysore Maharajas emerged champions in the Dr. (Col.) L.N. Raja Memorial Legends Premier League – T10 Cricket Tournament organised by Noesys Software in association with Navodaya Cricket Club at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium here recently.

After put into bat, Mysore Maharajas scored 97 runs in the allotted 10 overs before losing their three wickets. Top order batsman R. Sandeep top scored with 42 runs while Chandrashekar and Sunil Chinnaswamy chipped in with 25 and 20 runs respectively. For Mysore Lancers, K.N. Yogesh, S. Dhananjaya and M. Shivakumar took a wicket each.

In reply, Mysore Lancers, who required almost ten runs an over, managed to score 64 runs in 10 overs. Yogesh top scored with 22 runs while for Mysore Maharajas Sunil Kumar, C. Raghavendra and C.K. Chandrashekar took two wickets each.

Around 100 senior cricketers, who have represented Ranji Trophy, Karnataka State, Mysuru Division and University Cricket teams, took part in the  two-day tournament. Dr. Madhavi Raja, Dr. C. Venkatesh, Director, Dept. of Physical Education, University of Mysore and Smitha Bopanna, Co-Founder, Noesys Software, distributed prizes. Legends Premier League Organising Committee Members Sanjay Raja, Prajwal Raj and Srinivas Prasad were also present.

Mysore Maharajas: 97/3 in 10 Overs (R. Sandeep 42, Chandrashekar 25, Sunil Chinnaswamy 20, S. Dhananjaya 1/13, M. Shivakumar 1/19, K.N. Yogesh 1/21) beat Mysore Lancers: 64/7 in 10 overs (K.N. Yogesh 22, D.H. Sunil Kumar – 2/4, C.K. Chandrashekar 2/8, C. Raghavendra 2/13).

Man of the Match: R. Sandeep; Best Batsman: R. Sandeep (Mysore Maharajas); Best Bowler: Vinay Narayanan (Mysore Maharajas); Best Fielder/Wicket Keeper: Nandish Roy (Mysore Lancers); Best All Rounder: S.P. Manjunath                    (Mysuru Warriors).
