Dr. H.D. Chowdaiah Awards presentation ceremony in Mandya tomorrow

Mysuru: The State-level Dr H.D. Chowdaiah Rural Development, Sports, Literary Awards to achievers and Talent Awards to Meritorious Students for the year 2018 will be presented on Sept.25 at 11 am at Nitya Sachiva K.V. Shankaregowda Employment and Training Centre Auditorium, PES Engineering College in Mandya.

The programme is organised by Dr. H. D. Chowdaiah Cultural Foundation, Mandya, as part of the 91st birthday celebrations of former MLA Dr. H. D. Chowdaiah. Minor Irrigation and District Minister C. S. Puttaraju will inaugurate the programme. Higher Education and Mysuru District Minister G.T. Devegowda will felicitate Dr. Chowdaiah on his 91st birthday.

Transport Minister D. C. Thammanna will distribute the awards. Mandya MLA M.Srinivas will honour the students. Former MLA and President of Dr. H. D. Chowdaiah Cultural Foundation H.Honnappa will preside.

Awardees

Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha leader K.S. Nandini Jayaram of Chikkamandagere  village, K.R. Pet taluk (Dr. H.D. Chowdaiah Rural Development Award); Litterateur and Commissioner of Textile Development Dr. M.R. Ravi (Dr  H.D.Chowdaiah Literary Award); M.K.Nakul and M.K.Sahadev of Subashnagar, Mandya (Dr H.D. Chowdaiah Sports Award).

Student awardees  

H.S.Sowmya, daughter of Shantharaju and P. Kumar, son of Puttaswamy, Konanahalli Thittu, both of Holalu Government High School; S.K. Meghana, daughter of S.K. Kumar of Shivalli, S.B. Venika, daughter of Boregowda of Shivalli and B.J. Srujan, son of G.C. Jaikumar of Ganadalu, all students of Sri Venkateshwara Vidyanikethana, Holalu.
