Mysuru: Former Chief PRO and DRDO Scientist Dr. Jayaprakash Rao was conferred with the District Kannada Rajyotsava Award at a function organised by the District Administration in city on Nov. 1.

Dr. Rao has served Mysuru City Police as Honorary Media Advisor for more than five years besides serving as a regular senior guest faculty at Karnataka Police Academy since a decade.

A guest faculty for three institutions of ATI and a motivational speaker in many Engineering Colleges, he conducts various personality development programmes for youths.

Dr. Rao had also served former President of India, late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, as a Liaison Officer for seven years and has translated his English autobiography ‘Wings of Fire’ into Kannada ‘Agniya Rekkegallu’ which has been reprinted more than 17 times.
