Mysuru: Hoysala Kannada Sangha and Savigannada Pathrike Balaga together had organised a programme titled ‘Sri Rama Mahadarshana — Ondu Avalokana’ giving an insight into the 5th epic written by Dr. Latha Rahashekar at Sri Rama Mandira in Krishnamurthypuram here recently.
Inaugurating the programme, senior littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) hailed Dr. Latha Rajashekar as an all-religion poetess as she has studied in depth, scriptures of all religions covering Sri Rama, Mahaveera, Buddha, Basavanna and Jesus Christ and has come out with epics. He suggested Latha to come out with an epic on Prophet Mohammed Paigambar.
He pointed out that Latha had added a crown to Kannada literature through her epics weaving feelings like patience, peace, sacrifice and integrity through her poems when the world is full of hatred, jealousy and animosity thus reviving the era of epics which feared a state of extinction.
Gamaka exponent Dr. Jyoti Shankar delivered a special lecture.
Annapurna Nagendra recited selected stanzas of Sri Rama Mahadarshanam.
Hoysala Kannada Sangha President Maddikere Gopal, Secretary Ranganath, Dr. Latha Rajashekar, Writers B.R. Nagarathna, B.P. Ashwathanarayan, Paediatrician Dr. H.B. Rajashekar and others were present.
