Mysore/Mysuru: Senior writer and Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, Prof. C. Naganna, was conferred Dr. Malali Vasanthkumar Endowment Award at a function held at District Kannada Sahitya Parishat  auditorium in the city recently.

The award was presented to him by MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Thimmaiah said Prof. Naganna was a worthy recipient of the award, given his immense contributions to research and his standing as a renowned research scholar. He also recalled that Dr. Malali Vasanthkumar was a gifted writer and a close associate of former University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. D. Javaregowda.

“Dr. Vasanthkumar’s contributions to Kannada literature are monumental,” he added.

District Kannada Sahitya Pari-shat President Maddikere Gopal presided. Critic and writer Prof. K. Thimmaiah delivered the felicitation address.

Also present were Sharada Malali Vasanthkumar, Parishat Secretary Latha Mohan, Cheelur Chandrashekar, Joint Secretary K. Kempanna, Treasurer G. Prakash and Organising Secretary M.N. Lokesh.
