Bengaluru: The young and upcoming Kannada novelists are up for a treat with noted literary giant Dr. S. L. Bhyrappa at Santheshivara on Dec. 23. Gowramma Trust based at Santheshivara village near Channarayapatna in Hassan District has organised a unique one-day workshop for the benefit of young and amateur Kannada writers who will be interacting and getting guidance on nuances of novel-writing from none other than Bhyrappa himself.
It is a welcome sign that of late many youngsters are showing interest in literary work like writing novel. It is felt, however, that some guidance and tips are required for them by eminent writers who could share their experience on ‘how to write a novel.’ An attempt is being made by the organisers through this workshop to make budding writers to get mentoring from Dr. Bhyrappa.
The various dimensions of literary writing in general and novel in particular like creation and intricacies of characters, emotion, theme, conflict, social relevance and above all how intense research for truth leads in bringing out creative and classic novels will be discussed.
Every year residents of Santheshivara and Bhyrappa’s fans organise cultural and social programmes in Santheshivara, the home town of Dr. S. L. Bhyrappa, under the aegis of Gowramma Trust.
Those who are in the age group of 20 to 40 years and have a written and published at least one book are eligible to participate in the workshop. Those who have started writing their first literary work can also apply. However, only 50 persons will be selected to register for the workshop.
