‘Siachen’, a book on  Siachen conflict, sometimes referred to as the Siachen Glacier conflict or the Siachen war, will be released at a programme to take place at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road at 11 am tomorrow (Dec. 5).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, the book author S. Umesh said that Saraswathi Samman awardee Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa will release the book, while Kannada Sahitya Parishat State President Nadoja Dr. Mahesh Joshi will inaugurate the programme. Former Chairman of Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi Dr. Pradhan Gurudatta and former Principal of Sarada Vilas College Prof. M. Nataraj will speak about the book, he said.

Umesh further said that the book release programme will be live streamed online on Only Kannada OTT. The book contains stories on the valour and courage shown by our soldiers during the Siachen conflict, braving the glacier snow and chilling cold, he added. Dhatri Prakashana Manager Nagaraj Rao, Ravishankar and Abhilasha were present.
