Dr. Sheik Ali releases Urdu book “Rah-e-Sulook” on Sufism

Mysuru: Former Vice- Chancellor of Mangalore and Goa Universities Prof. B. Sheik Ali released an Urdu Book titled “Rah-E-Sulook” authored by famous Urdu writer Hazrath Mohamed Ali of Chikkamagalur at a function jointly organised by Karnataka Urdu Academy, Karwan-e-Urdu Adab, Chikkamagalur and Faizan-e-Urdu Adab at Kalamandira here recently.

Dr. Syed Khadeer Nazim Sargiro, Chairman, Karnataka Urdu Academy, presided. Dr. Syed Akheel Ahmed, former Vice- Chancellor, Yenepoya University, Mangaluru, Prof.  Mohamed Iqbal Shahbaz of Kerala, Dr. M. Sayeed Ahmed, Hon. Secretary, Farooqia PU College, famous Poet Gowher Tarikervi, Syed Shafi Ahmed, Member, Karnataka Urdu Academy, Dr. Ahmed K. Afzal, Consulting Cardiologist were the guests of honour. Munir Ahmed Jami compered.

On the occasion, Sufiyana qawwali was presented by famous Qawwals Faizan Sabri and Zeeshan Sabri of Delhi.

The ceremony was inaugurated with the recitation of verses from Quran followed by Hamd and Naath. Fathima Kids Paradise students presented Naath-e-Shariff. S. Moinuddin Pasha, Member, Urdu Academy and Convenor, welcomed. Siraj Ahmed Khalid, Registrar, Urdu Academy, presented a report on the programmes launched by the Academy for the development of Urdu language.  Momina Mukhtar spoke on the author, who was also felicitated. Syed Shafi Ahmed proposed a vote of thanks. Sir Khazi of Mysore Hazrath Moulana Mohamed Usman Shariff Saheb, Ariff A. Mehkri, Chairman, Mysore District Waqf Advisory Committee, Mohamed Altaf Peer, Secretary, Faizan-e-Urdu Adab, were present on the dais.
