Mysuru:  Students of NSS and Rangers Wing of SDM-MMK Women’s College took out an awareness rally in city this morning to drive a point among people on the importance of voting.

The rally, flagged off by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade at the College premises in Krishnamurthypuram here passed through RTO Circle, Law Courts, Krishnaraja Boulevard and Ashoka Circle before returning to the College. The students held placards with meaningful messages highligting the importance of voting in a democratic country.

Speaking on the occasion. Dr. Heggade opined that the youth have a vital role in nation-building. He stressed the importance of voting to strengthen democracy and governance. He advised people not to be lax or nonchalant over exercising their franchise.

MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag, Additional Commissioner Shivananda Murthy, ZP CEO K. Jyothi, Degree College Principal Dr. Sainath Malligemadu, PU College Principal Dr. Asha and others were present.
