Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Vinodamma, Assistant Professor of Kannada at SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram in city, has been appointed as a member of Mysuru District Kannada Jagruti Samiti.

Dr. Vinodamma, who is also a noted poet and Kannada activist, is a Savitri Jyotiba Phule awardee.

The Kannada Jagruti Samiti, set up by the Government, is tasked with effective implementation of the initiatives of Kannada Development Authority (KDA) and language policy of the Government in the District. 

The Samiti, headed by the Deputy Commissioner, has ZP CEO, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, President of District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Department and five Government nominated personalities as its members.
