March 29, 2019

Chamarajanagar:  Varuna MLA Dr. Yathindra, son of former CM Siddharamaiah has appealed the people to re-elect Chamarajanagar Congress MP R. Dhruvanarayan with a huge margin.

Addressing a meeting of party workers at Harave in the Taluk on Thursday, Dr. Yathindra said that the previous UPA Government headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh had waived Rs. 72,000 crore farm loans. Also, the previous Congress government headed by his father Siddharamaiah had waived off farmer loans up to Rs.50,000 in Co-operative Banks and now the JD(S)- Congress coalition government has announced Rs.1 lakh farm loan waiver.

Accusing PM Modi of failing the farmers, Yathindra accused the BJP of doling out false promises and spending thousands of crores of rupees on advertisements.

MP R. Dhruvanarayan said that development was his achievement as Chamarajanagar MP for the past 10 years. He claimed that he has been successful in brining Rs. 4,500 crore to the constituency and carrying out many developmental works including establishment of an Agricultural College, Law College, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Passport Seva Kendra. He also recalled the contribution of late H.S. Mahadeva Prasad as a Minister in the previous Siddharamaiah government.

Congress leaders Ganesh Prasad, Kerehalli Naveen, District Congress President P. Mariswamy, former MP Siddaraju, ZP members Bommaiah and Chennappa, former CADA Chairman Nanjappa and others were present.
