DRDO Scientist opens meet on advanced materials for health and environment

Mysuru: The Depart-ment of Chemistry, Sri Jaya-chamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), JSS Science & Technology University, had organised a two-day National Conference on Advanced Materials for Health, Energy, and Environment (AMHEE-2018) recently.

The conference was organised with the objective of providing a forum for researchers, scientists, professionals and industry personal to showcase the emerging trends in advanced research on advanced materials for health, energy and environment.

The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Rajeev Jain, Scientist-G, DRDO, Bengaluru.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Anjana Jain, Senior Scientist, CSIR-NAL, Bengaluru. Dr. K. S. Lokesh, Registrar, JSS Science and Technology University, presided.

On the first day, invited research talks were delivered by Dr. Veeresh, Professor, Pullareddy College, Hyderabad; Dr. N.  K. Lokanath, Professor, DoS in Physics, Mysuru; Dr. M. N. K. Harish, Professor, AIT, Bengaluru; Dr. Bhojya Naik, Registrar, Kuvempu University; Dr. Siddaramaiah, Professor & Head, Department of Polymer Science & Technology, JSS S&TU and Dr. N. R. Prasad, Senior Scientist.

On the second day, the speakers were Dr. Rudraswamy, Professor, Department of E&C, JSS S&TU; Dr. K. S. Nithin, Professor, NIE; Dr. Mahesh, Professor, Department of Environmental Engineering, JSS S&TU; Dr. Basappa, Professor, DoS in Chemistry, UoM and Dr. D. S. Prasanna, Professor, Nano Technology Division, VTU Regional Centre, Bengaluru.

The conference concluded with the valedictory address by Dr. D. S. Guru, Professor, DoS in Computer Science, UoM. Dr. M S. Prabhuswamy,  Principal Incharge, JSS Science and Technology University, presided.

Dr. P. Mallu, Professor, Department of Chemistry, was the Organising Secretary of the conference.
