Lakshmipuram Police book 10 cases till noon
Mysore/Mysuru: Following lifting of lockdown, City Cops have resumed drive against maskless people riding and driving bikes and cars.
This morning, the cops attached to Lakshmipuram Police Station, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Gowrishankar, conducted a surprise raid against maskless driving and booked ten cases. A fine amount of Rs. 250 per case was collected from them. The Police personnel, divided into three to four groups, stood near the traffic signal light at Ramaswamy Circle and booked cases against people who were not wearing face mask. The Police will also book cases against road-side tea vendors if the customers were not wearing mask.
The Police Department has been directed by the State Government to intensify drive against maskless driving due to rush on streets consequent to lifting of lockdown. Wearing mask has been made mandatory by the Government of India to check the spread of Coronavirus.
The Cops are given target in order to discipline people who don’t wear mask contending that they have taken vaccine and hence the chance of contracting the virus was remote.
