Drivers under duress to abide by time limits

May 30, 2023

T. Narasipur: The general public have complained that the overspeeding of private buses and other vehicles on Mysuru-Kollegal route is the main reason for accidents on the stretch of the Highway.

The private bus drivers compete with other vehicles and will be in a hurry even while boarding and alighting of passengers at the stops, ignoring the aged and ailing people at times.

The reason behind such erroneous attitude of drivers is the work pressure. As per schedule, every buses departing T. Narasipur bus stand have two-minute time to start towards Mysuru, Kollegal and Chamarajanagar. If they fail to abide by the time limits, they can only alight the passengers, with no permission to board the passengers at the bus stand. To avoid that, which will dent the income, the bus operators will be in a tearing hurry to reach the destination on time and hence they drive in a reckless manner, the public alleged.
