Dry days declared for Hunsur bypolls

With Hunsur Assembly segment in the district going to bypolls on Dec.5, the District Administration has announced the schedule of dry days in the Constituency for ensuring a peaceful, free and fair polls. As per the schedule, the dry days will be in force from 6 pm on the evening of Dec.3 to 12 midnight of Dec.5 and from midnight of Dec.8 to midnight of Dec.9. Accordingly, all liquor and wine shops, Bars and Restaurants, Clubs and other license holders selling liquor, coming under Hunsur Assembly Constituency and also those located within 5-km radius from the borders of the Constituency will remain closed during this period and there will be no sale, distribution or stocking of liquor. Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar, who is also the District Electoral Officer, has invoked Section 135C of the 1951 Act to declare the dry days, according to a press release.
