Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy suicide case: CBI finds anomalies in post-mortem report

November 20, 2017

Madikeri: In a new revelation in Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy suicide case, the CBI, which is probing the case as per a Supreme Court directive, has reportedly found anomalies in the post-mortem report of the deceased Police Officer, according to a TV news channel.

A team of CBI Officers, who recently visited Madikeri, had recorded the statements of the kith and kin of the deceased, Police Officers and doctors who conducted the post-mortem.

M.K. Ganapathy, who was serving as Dy.SP at Mangaluru, was found hanging at a room in a lodge at Madikeri on July 7, 2016.

A couple of hours before ending his life, Ganapathy in an interview to a local TV channel had blamed Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George, who had earlier served as Home Minister and IPS officers Pronab Mohanty and A.M. Prasad of harassing him.

The CBI, which recorded the statement of Dr. Shailaja, who conducted the post-mortem at the District Hospital in Madikeri, is said to have questioned the doctor on the anomalies found in the report.

Dr. Shailaja is said to have told the CBI sleuths that she was asked by the Government to conduct the post-mortem treating it only as a suicide case,  according to the TV channel.

The channel further said that Ganapathy had fired two rounds from his service revolver at the floor of the lodge room where he stayed and that the gun powder marks found on his dress did not find any mention in the post-mortem report.
