Easy money trap even claims educated victims

May 22, 2025

Sir,

Despite repeated warnings and extensive media coverage about financial frauds, it is still surprising — and troubling — to see even educated individuals falling prey to these scams.

In many cases, I believe the victims share part of the responsibility. Some seem to fall for these traps due to their desire for easy money, and in certain instances, the lure of untaxed or illicit wealth.

No one offers high returns without risk. When someone promises unusually large gains, basic common sense and due diligence should immediately raise red flags.

Individuals need to exercise caution and critical thinking, rather than blindly trusting unrealistic promises and later seeking legal recourse.
