Bengaluru: Following the announcement of Assembly poll schedule, Deputy Chief Election Commissioner of India Ajay Bhadoo reviewed the preparations that are being undertaken by the State Election Commission (SEC) with the senior officials at the SEC office here yesterday.
At the meeting, Ajay Bhadoo reviewed the pre-election preparations, discussed about programmes to create aware- ness about voting among the people, sought information about officials on election duty, about Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities and other election-related campaign programmes and their implementation.
He also enquired about printing of Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and distribution, polling booths, training for election staff about voting machines, nomination process, code of conduct, arrangements to be made on the day of voting day and law & order.
In addition, he also sought information from State level and district level officials about SVEEP programmes, postal Ballots and other related issues.
Ajay Bhadoo also held a virtual meeting with 34 District Electoral Officers and SPs and sought information about the election preparations like printing and distribution of EPIC, law and order, election code of conduct implementation, deployment of vigilance squads, appointment of election staff and their training, process of postal ballots, enough stock of voting machines, supervision on voting day, arrangements for counting, SUVIDHA and cVIGIL apps and other important issues at the district level and instructed the officials to hold elections systematically as per law.
