Eco-friendly Deepavali

November 2, 2026

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has issued guidelines to public and vendors of firecrackers to celebrate eco-friendly Deepavali from Nov. 10 to 15, as per the High Court order. Public can burst only green crackers between 8 pm and 10 pm. Bursting of crackers has been completely banned near hospitals, schools and colleges. Green crackers will bear green symbol and kid code on the packets. If the cracker sellers have imported banned crackers, such godowns will be seized. Strict action will be taken under Environment (Protection) Act, against those who break the rules.
