18th Graduation Day Ceremony of JSS Women’s College held; 508 students receive various degrees; 21 students receive gold medals, prizes

Mysore/Mysuru: Girish C. Hosur, Joint Secretary of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, said that the days ahead are full of challenges for fresh graduates, who should be mentally strong  to face the situation.

He was speaking after distributing gold medals and prizes to the toppers at the 18th Graduation Day Ceremony of JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram in city yesterday.

“The students who have secured a degree after pursuing education with perseverance, should make use of the knowledge they have gained, by moving ahead in life with better skills.  The women’s empowerment is possible through education and when compared to past few decades, the present-day women represent every other field and have also tasted success in the same, but still below expected lines,” he added.

Several women fail to reach the pinnacle, for the reasons aplenty like poor financial condition and lack of opportunities. Education is a powerful tool for achievement, he said.

Emphasising on having an aim to achieve in life, Hosur advised to tread ahead with                                   commitment, firm mind and patience, ignoring the criticisms which come in the way.

He advised the students to understand the pain of their parents, who go to any length to educate their wards. In return, the students should honour their parents, by decorating top positions in their career, he said.

In all, 508 students, including Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate students, received their degrees. A total of 21 students from various departments, were awarded gold medals and prizes.
