‘Eid Milan for Unity’ held

Mysuru: “Our nation belongs to Sufis and Saints. Our city always loved peace and communal harmony and the followers of different religions and faiths are living together as brothers and sisters,”  opined Tanveer Sait, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Auqaf and Minorities Development.

Speaking at the “Eid Milan for Unity” programme organised by Azeez Sait Block Congress Committee President Abdul Khader Sahid on Thursday at Milan Function Hall, Mysuru-Bengaluru Road, Tanveer Sait called upon the citizens to spread the message of peace, communal harmony and brotherhood.

Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff, Sir Khazi of Mysuru; Hazrath Moulana Mahmoodul Hassan; Hazrath Moulana Shabbir Ahmed Saheb Rishadi; Moulana Hafiz Arshad, General Secretary, Jamiath-e-Ulema Hind, Mysuru Unit; Hazrath Moulana Maqbool Ahmed Saheb Nizami; Moulana Abdul Salam Saheb Rizvi; Corporators K.C. Shoukath Pasha, Ayaz Pasha and Ayub Khan; Syed Yunuss, Secretary, Jamia Tipu Sulthan; Jameel Ahmed Ashrafi, General Secretary, Tanzeem-e-Ahle Sunnath O Jamaath; Syed Abbas, Managing Director, ABS Group of Hotels; Mohamed Mumtaz Ahmed, Secretary, Mysore District Relief Committee; Congress leaders Iqbal Ahmed and Shoukath Ali Khan  and others were on the dais.

Sri Gyan Prakash Swamiji of Urilinga Peddi Mutt and Sri Vikram Jeeth Singhji, President, Sri Gurusingh Sabha, graced the occasion.

Abdul Khader Shahid, President, Azeez Sait Block Congress Committee, welcomed. Muslim Co-operative Bank President Mir Humayun and other Directors of the Bank  felicitated Tanveer Sait and other dignitaries.

A ghazal programme was also arranged after the Eid Milan get-together. Noted singer Zahid Ulla Khan and Party presented some ghazals and qawwalis.
