Elderly couple dies hours apart at Hebbal

September 2, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Most people would consider this very sad but also very touching. But it’s not the first time this kind of thing has happened. We often see stories about elderly couples, who have been together for decades, dying within a few days of each other.

One such incident was reported at Hebbal in city where a heart-broken woman breathed her last yesterday after her husband’s death on Aug. 30. The couple is retired teacher Jayaram and his home-maker wife Indira. They leave behind two daughters and a son.

Due to old age, ailments began to torment the couple and 69-year-old Indira was admitted to a hospital.

Worried about his wife’s health, 76-year-old Jayaram suffered a heart attack at his home on Aug. 30. He died the same day and the news reached his wife Indira who was on the hospital bed.

Unable to bear the loss of her husband, Indira too died on Sept. 1 (yesterday). They have been together for decades and joined each other in death.
