Srirangapatna:  An elderly couple died in sleep at their residence in Palahalli village of the taluk last night. The deceased have been identified as Annegowda alias Annaih (80) and his wife Kamalamma (75).

The couple were said to be in depression as both were suffering from age-related illness for the last one year.

Both had dinner together last night and are said to have died in sleep. The incident came to light this morning. The couple is survived by a son and a daughter.

Last rites were performed at the village this afternoon.
