Mysore/Mysuru: An elderly couple were seriously injured when a car rammed into their bike at Jayanagar yesterday afternoon.

The injured persons, who have been admitted in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a private hospital in city, are 64-year-old Badrinath and his wife 60-year-old Shylaja, residents of Udayagiri 5th Cross. Their condition is said to be critical.

The couple were on their way to attend the memorial ceremony of a relative at Rama Mandira in Jayanagar on their Honda Activa scooter (KA-04-SA-7056) when a speeding Hyundai i10 car (KA-09-P-6535) rammed into the scooter near Sankethi Hostel at Jayanagar 10th Cross and 2nd Main Road Junction, resulting in the couple sustaining serious injuries.

Kuvempunagar Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, besides registering a case.
