Mysuru: Dr. G. Muralikrishna, former HoD and retired Chief Scientist, Department of Biochemistry, CSIR-CFTRI and a resident of CFTRI Layout, Bogadi 2nd Stage, Mysuru, was elected as Fellow of Association of Carbohydrate Chemists and Technologists (ACCT), India, in the International Carbohydrate Symposium held at Lucknow University recently.
He received the citation from the Hon. President of ACCT(I) Prof. Naveen Khare. The ACCT(I) Fellowship is conferred annually on the Scientists and Technologists who have made outstanding contributions in the field of carbohydrates.
Dr. Muralikrishna has earlier received Carbohydrate Excellence Award (2013), Lifetime Achievement Award (2018) from ACCT(I,) AFST(I) Fellow (2008), Laljee Godhoosmaraknidhi Award (2002) from Association of Food Technologists, India, in addition to annual awards from CFTRI for Best Paper in Basic Science (2006) and Best Individual Contributions (2009).
The retired Chief Scientist has guided 14 Ph.D candidates and published over 75 publications in peer-reviewed International journals and has H-index of 25 and citations over 2,200.
Dr. Muralikrishna was granted four Indian patents and one US patent. He is in the National Task Forces of project granting agencies, New Delhi and reviewer for more than 20 International peer reviewed journals.
