Mysuru: Corporator SBM Manju has been elected unopposed as the President of The Mysore Co-operative Bank Limited, Gandhi Square, at the Bank elections held on Jan. 16.
The election was necessitated following the resignation of former Bank President and ex-Mayor B.K. Prakash.
Manju, who has been chosen as Director of the Bank three times in a row, took charge from B.K. Prakash.
C. Girish officiated as the Returning Officer. Bank’s Vice-President Bhagyamma, Directors S. Somanna, K. Umashankar, Pailwan Chikkaputti, A. Manchappa, R. Ravikumar, Rajeshwari and C. Chandrashekar, Secretary S. Gayathri and others were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Manju said that the century-old Bank, established by the Mysore Maharaja, has created history in the city. He assured to take steps to open more branches of the Bank across the city along with ATMs. He also proposed to launch several loan schemes, health schemes and scholarship for children of members.
