Elephant dies while trying to cross tentacle solar fence at Nagarahole

Hunsur: A wild elephant, which was trying to cross the tentacle solar fence, has died and the carcass of the elephant was found yesterday.

The elephant, aged about 60 years, is said to have tried to cross over forest area and while trying to cross the tentacle solar fence at Havinagundi Moole forest area in B.R. Katte Beat of Aganasana Hundi Range at Veeranahosahalli Wildlife Zone, it fell underneath the solar fence and unable to get up has died.

Forest Department personnel, who rushed to the spot, have registered a case of unnatural death. Following instructions from Nagarahole Director D. Mahesh Kumar, Veterinarian Dr. Ramesh conducted post-mortem in the presence of ACF Satish, RFO Naman Narayana Naidu and others.
