Awareness programme on ‘Bhagavad Gita’ held
Mysore/Mysuru: As part of ‘Adhika Masa,’ Sri Abhayam Foundation had organised an awareness programme on Bhagavad Gita ‘Gita Saara’ at Sri Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy Temple in Vontikoppal here. On this occasion, the ‘Bhagavad Gita’ books were distributed to 108 persons.
Speaking on the occasion, K.R. Mohan Kumar, President, Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwaraswamy Temple Trust, said that we should understand the message of Lord Sri Krishna through the ‘Bhagavad Gita’ as it was very relevant in the current competitive world.
“Education was very important in life. Swamy Vivekananda took the message of ‘Bhagavad Gita’ throughout the world and introduced the youths to rich cultural heritage of the country. The image of Indians in abroad is high due to ‘Bhagavad Gita,’ he added.
Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman H.V. Rajeev said that today, everyone is in search of peace to find solutions in order to face challenges in society. At this juncture, ‘Bhagavad Gita’ will boost self-confidence and thinking capacity. Highest posts in society could be earned by reading ‘Bhagavad Gita’ and adopt its message in life, he added.
Social worker K. Raghuram Vajpayee said that the flute of Lord Sri Krishna is the symbol of love and brotherhood but they have forgotten about it. “The war in ‘Mahabharat’ resembles to our daily life. Lord Sri Krishna has said it is possible to win every one’s heart through love and affection,” he added.
Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji, Muralidhar Shastri, N.M. Naveen Kumar, Vikram Iyengar, Ajay Shastri, K.R. Satyanarayana, Dr. Chakrapani, Jyothiprabha, Temple Trustee Bharatesh, Puttaswamy, Janakamma and others were present.
