Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised an Endowment Programme to remember flautist A.V. Prakash on his birthday on Sept. 18 at 6 pm at Vasudevacharya Bhavana on JLB Road.

Mysuru’s popular and pro-active musician A.V. Prakash was born on Sept.18, 1941 and was passionate about flute. He trained more than 1,000 students and always referred as he did not run a school for teaching but a factory for having given so many students to the music world. He died on 17.3.2016 while performing on a concert at Sri Chandramouliswara Temple. One of his disciples, Vidu. Divyasri, has arranged an endowment concert every year on Sept. 18, to remember his birthday.

The maiden concert of the endowment this year is being played by senior flautist Vid. V. Vamshidhar. He will be accompanied by  Vid. Mattur Srinidhi on violin, Vid. B.S. Prashanth on mridanga and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.
