Madikeri: An engineering student, who had gone to Chelavara Falls along with his friends met his watery grave yesterday.

The student has been identified as Darshan (22), son of Kaverappa, a native of Kodagu and a resident of J.P. Nagar in Bengaluru.

Darshan, along with four of his friends, had gone to Kodagu on Saturday to witness Madikeri Dasara. On Sunday, Darshan along with his friends went to the falls and he ventured into the waters and began to drown. His friends who saw him drowning tried to rescue him but in vain.

As there was heavy force of water, the Cops were unable to fish out his body.

Napoklu Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
