Mysuru: Expressing concerns over rising thefts and other illegal activities at public places in Yadavagiri and surrounding areas, the Yadavagiri Residents Association has appealed the jurisdictional V.V. Puram Police to enhance patrolling and prevent crimes.

The Association office-bearers, led by Convenor S.K. Dinesh, met V.V. Puram Police Inspector Vivekananda at the Police Station yesterday and made a oral submission expressing concern over rising thefts and other crimes and sought enhanced Police patrolling and other measures for prevention of crimes.

Later speaking to Star of Mysore, Dinesh said that theft of solar panels, water meters and other such burglaries have become common in Yadavagiri these days, which has caused concern among the residents. Also, other immoral and illegal activities are taking place at secluded areas, deserted places and other such spots in the locality, he said adding that consumption of liquor has been on the increase in several parks of Yadavagiri, especially during late night.

He further said that the Association has appealed the Police to book people engaged in immoral and illegal activities and take action against them as per law.

Pointing out that the Police have assured of action on their oral complaint, Dinesh said that a formal written complaint would be filed in the coming days, if there was no action.

Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) Founder-President Bhamy V. Shenoy, office-bearers Paramjit Singh, Balakrishna and others were present.
