Enroll for National-level Rural IT Quiz

Mysuru: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm and the Department of IT, BT, Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka are organising the Rural IT Quiz programme across six States in India for school students from class 8 to 12.

The Rural IT Quiz is an attempt to enhance the IT Knowledge and Technology awareness through quizzing platform to inspire the young workforce of the future in India.

The Rural IT Quiz is held across 6 States of India including Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. The written elimination rounds of the quiz will conducted in these six States between August and Nov. 2017.

The State finals of Rural IT Quiz will be held in Tumakuru (Karnataka), Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Nagpur (Maharashtra) and Raipur (Chhattisgarh). The winning team from these locations will take part in the National Finals of Rural IT Quiz which will be a part of “BangaloreIT.biz 2017”- hosted by the Department of IT, BT, Science and Technology in Bengaluru on Nov. 17. Noted Bengaluru-based Quizmaster Giri ‘Pickbrain’ Balasubramaniam will host the quiz.

The Karnataka Statewide rounds will be held on Sept. 7 while the district-level rounds will be conducted on Sept.22. The Zonal-level Quiz will take place in three locations — Dharwad (Oct. 10), Mysuru (Oct. 12) and Tumakuru (Oct. 13). The Tumakuru Zonal finals will be followed by the Karnataka State Finals in Tumakuru on Oct. 13.

School students from classes 8 to 12 can participate. There is NO entry fee. Students of Schools/PU Colleges in the City Corporation limits of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Ballari, Davangere, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi and Kalaburagi cities are not eligible to participate in the quiz. Schools and colleges should contact district DDPI/DDPU for participation.

All the Regional winners and runners-up will receive TCS education scholarship of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 7000 respectively. The National winners will receive Rs. 1,00,000 and runners-up Rs. 50,000, besides other attractive prizes from TCS.
