Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has written to Deputy Commissioner (DC) G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, urging that the stall allocation process for the Dasara Aahaara Mela be conducted in a fair, transparent and impartial manner.

In a press release, the MP said his office had received several complaints and petitions regarding the stall distribution process, raising concerns over its transparency and fairness.

Highlighting that lakhs of tourists and visitors from Mysuru and across the State attend the Aahaara Mela, he stressed the need for stall allocation to be carried out strictly on the basis of clearly defined criteria and eligibility rules.

“Eligible and genuine food vendors must be given equal opportunity. The process must ensure that no favouritism, irregularities or malpractice creep in,” he said.

Yaduveer added that a transparent and credible allocation system would provide equal opportunity to deserving vendors, besides upholding the dignity of the mela and ensuring its smooth management.

He urged the DC, who is also the Dasara Special Officer, to carefully examine the complaints and petitions received and take necessary measures to ensure a fair and transparent stall distribution process.
