Ensure installation of oxygen generation plants by month end: MP

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha has directed the District Officials to ensure installation of the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation plant in the premises of K.R. Hospital before the end of this month.

This 1,000 LPM (Litres Per Minute) capacity oxygen plant is being installed with the financial assistance of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). 

Speaking at the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the ZP Hall here yesterday, he said the oxygen plants must be established in six Taluk Headquarters of the District and the works must be completed by July 31. Health Department officials must be ready to manage the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic. 

“Required quantity of medical oxygen must be generated in the respective Taluks and officials concerned must be ready with all facilities to deal with the third wave,” the MP added.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. K.H. Prasad said sites have been identified at K.R. Nagar, Nanjangud and Hunsur towns to establish the oxygen generating plants and works have started. The works in other towns will commence soon, he added.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham directed the DHO to submit a detailed report on the progress of PSA Units soon.
