Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) has invited applications for ‘Ekalavya Award’ for the year 2022 from sports-persons.

The award will be conferred on sports-persons of the State with vast achievements to their credit. Application should be filed in the prescribed format and submitted to the DYES Office before Nov. 25.

For Cash reward

Applications have been invited from sports-persons of the State who have won medals in National and International level sports meets (2021-22) for the cash reward given by the State Government.

Those who have won medals in International sports meets recognised by the Government of India will be given a cash award of Rs. 50,000. The maximum annual cash award of Rs. 5 lakh will be conferred for medal winning sports persons or whichever is lesser, considering their best performance in the year.

Accordingly, medal winning sports-persons who officially represented Karnataka at national level and India at international level can submit the application at the DYES Office by Nov. 25.

Karnataka Kreeda Poshaka

Applications have been invited from sports mentors for ‘Karnataka Kreeda Poshaka’ award given under Karnataka Sports Mentor Award programme for the year 2023-24.

Those involved in sports and contributed for its development at State, National and International level in the last five years are eligible for the award. Non-residents of Karnataka and those mentors not involved in State sports are not eligible for the award.

The applicants should compulsorily submit Police verification certificate clarifying that they don’t have any criminal background. Eligible men and women sports mentors can apply for the award in a prescribed format before Nov. 25.

Lifetime Achievement, Karnataka Kreeda Ratna

Applications are invited from senior sports-persons and coaches for Lifetime Achievement Award and rural talents for Karnataka Kreeda Ratna Award for the year 2022. Application can be submitted through Seva Sindhu portal – https://sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in before Nov. 30.
