In memory of writer Dr. Vijaya Dabbe, the city’s Samatha Adhyayana Kendra has invited entries from students and youths for its State-level Poetry and Essay (Lalitha Prabandha) contests. The contests are open for students and youths in the age group of 20 to 35 years.

Every participant has to send two self-composed poems for poetry contest and one essay, not exceeding 2,000 words for the essay competition. The entries must be sent by post to: Vijaya Rao, House No.861, 14th Main, Vijayanagar First Stage, Mysuru-570017. Both the contests will have three prizes (first prize – Rs.5,000, second – Rs.3,000 and third prize – Rs.2,000).  The ten best entries in each category will be selected for taking part in a one-day Literary workshop to be held in the last week of May.
