Following the release of 15,000 cusecs of water from KRS Dam into the Cauvery River — which may be increased to 30,000 cusecs — and a flood alert issued for downstream areas, Srirangapatna Taluk Executive Officer Venu, Revenue Inspector Prasannakumar and Village Accountant Raghu visited Balamuri, a popular tourist spot in the taluk today and banned the entry of visitors.
