ESI beneficiaries oppose move to shift office

December 5, 2017

Mysuru: Strongly opposing the move to shift Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Sub-Regional Office (SRO) in Mysuru to Bengaluru, the Mysuru Division ESI Beneficiaries Welfare Committee has urged the ESI Corporation to drop the move.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, Committee President H.S. Jagadish said that the move to shift the Mysuru SRO to Bengaluru will badly hit nearly 1.5 lakh workers and employees who are covered under the ESI in Mysuru region.

Accusing the ESI Corporation of unilaterally making efforts to shift the SRO, he said that the Committee would strongly oppose the move.

Asking the ESI Corporation (ESIC) to continue the Mysuru ESI SRO in the better interests of thousands of employees, Jagadish warned of severe protests if the ESIC went ahead with its move of re-locating the Mysuru SRO.
