Regional Commissioner had asked him to vacate the resort
Claiming that the High Court has stayed the Regional Commissioner’s order of reclaiming his land and evacuation of the resort built on it in Survey No. 20 of Mangala Village in Angala Hobli of Gundlupet Taluk, former MLC G. Madhusudan has said that the RC’s order smacked of a political game in the wake of Nanjangud and Gundlupet Assembly by-polls.
Addressing the press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan this morning, Madhusudan said he had legally purchased the land in Mangala village Survey No. 20 and had not encroached any Government, Forest or Tribal and Dalit land. But the Regional Commissioner, without thoroughly scrutinising the documents that he had submitted, acted in haste and transferred the Khata back to the Government’s name besides ordering demolition of Tiger Ranch Resort which he had built on the land.
Questioning the RC’s order, he moved the High Court, which issued a stay to the RC’s order, besides directing the Government not to evacuate the land owner, Madhusudan said while reiterating that the Congress Government’s action was politically motivated and aimed at tarnishing his image.
Maintaining that he had struggled for saving 1,976 acres of ‘B’ Kharab land in Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 to the Revenue Department, 1,500 acres of land in Sattegala Survey No. 1 and 174 in Kollegal Taluk and land belonging to Wakf Board worth thousands of crores of rupees, which was encroached upon, Madhusudan said he was targeted solely for political reasons.
“Now that I have got relief from the High Court, I will start campaigning in Nanjangud and Gundlupet from now on,” Madhusudan said.
