Exam for appointment of teachers held

Mysuru: The two-day exam for recruitment of Graduate Primary School Teachers (6th to 8th std.) began at seven centres across the city yesterday. The exam is being conducted by the Department of Public Instruction.

The centres were Cauvery Educational Institutions, Kuvempunagar, SDM PU College, Krishnamurthypuram, Marimallappa PU College, Maharshi Public School, Gopalaswamy High School, Nanjumalige, Mahajana PU College and Chinmaya High School in Jayalakshmipuram.

Out of the 2,909 candidates, who had registered for the exam, 2,366 candidates appeared for the general paper held yesterday. The English language test was held in the afternoon session at only one centre — Gopalaswamy High School, as only 489 candidates had registered for this test.
