Mysore/Mysuru: The students of St. Joseph’s First Grade College (FGC), Jayalakshmipuram, have shined in various inter-collegiate fests, showcasing their talent and team work.
Taking part in Aavishkar-2026, organised by JSS College for Women, Saraswathipuram, St. Joseph’s FGC won first place in Treasure Hunt. In SRESHTA-2026 at Sheshadripuram Degree College, Dheeraj Singh won first place in solo dance while BCA 2nd year students were runners-up in Treasure Hunt.
At the NIRBHIKAM-2026 at Vidya Vikas College, Dheeraj Singh was runner-up in solo dance. At the State-level Science Fest – 2026 at JSS College for Women, St. Joseph’s ramp walk team secured second place and Tanuja won first prize in poster-making.
In VIDWATH-2026 organised by Vidyavardhaka First Grade College, Mohammad Afnan and Mohammad Furkaan of II year BCA won ‘Minute to Win It’ and D. Tanuja was runner-up in ‘Vibrant Artistic.’ At PRAVIDHI-2026 organised by JSS College for Women, St. Joseph’s students won Treasure Hunt contest.
The college team also won the ramp walk contest INCREDEMA-2026 held at St. Philomena’s College followed by Pavan and Vayu Singh emerging runner-up in Marketing event.
At SPECTRA-2026 organised by Hindustan First Grade College, the ramp walk team won.
St. Joseph’s emerged overall champions at SATHGAMAYA-2026 held at Amrita College.
In GITA SAMHITHA-2026 held at GSSS College, the ramp walk team emerged runner-up while Seher secured second prize in Best Manager event, Tanuja 2nd in pencil sketching.
Meanwhile, the college sports teams also performed well in various tournaments. The men’s cricket team emerged winners in the cricket tournament organised by NIE, Christ College and Vidyavardhaka College in city.
The women’s tug-of-war team secured second place. At the Jo-Fest organised by St. Joseph’s FGC, the men’s football team won first place, women’s throwball team secured 2nd place and men’s cricket team secured 2nd place. At the University of Mysore Inter-Collegiate Chamaraja Zone Tournament, men’s hockey team and throwball team secured first place.
MDES Secretary Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha, Treasurer Rev. Fr. Naveen Kumar have congratulated the winners on their exceptional performance.
College Principal Dr. H.N. Chandrashekara, Cultural Committee Convenor Suhasini Nelson and Physical Education Director Venkatesh were present on the occasion.
