Excise officials seize articles

Mysore/Mysuru: Continuing their drive against illegal supplies, stocking, transportation and distribution of unauthorized liquor in the wake of LS polls, the Excise officials have seized nine corrugated boxes of beer, including seven which did not have Barcode, QR code, stickers or controlling security stickers and two corrugated boxes whose Barcodes mismatched. These boxes were dispatched from Nanjangud to Hunsur and the net value of these boxes is Rs. 23,07,049. The Excise officials have registered a case against Nanjangud’s United Breweries Ltd.,in this regard.

Also, the Excise officials, in a drive conducted from Mar.16 to 29, have registered as many as 148 cases concerning  illegal Excise activities and have seized 376.445 lts of hard liquor, 3,51,432.630 lts. of beer and 18 vehicles used for illegal excise activities. The total value of the seized liquor is Rs. 8,36,37,858 according to  a press release.
