Family feud: Nurse poisons her 3 children, ends life

Maddur: A nurse, depressed over frequent feuds, committed suicide along with her three children by feeding them poison and later hanging self at Holebeedhi in Maddur yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as Usma Kausar (30), a nurse at a private nursing home in Maddur, her children Harris (7), Alisa (4) and Anum Fathima (2). Usma’s husband Aqueel Ahmed is a car mechanic at Channapatna and it is alleged that there were issues between the couple since one-and-a-half years.

Depressed over frequent fights between the couple, Usma fed poison to her children, when she and the kids were alone in the house and after confirming that the children were dead, she hanged herself in the house, it is learnt.

The incident came to light when the family members returned home in the night. Maddur Police, who rushed to the house, conducted mahazar, registered a case, shifted the bodies to the Government Hospital mortuary and are investigating.
