Farmer Association demands Memorial for farmer leaders

Mysuru : Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers Association President Kurubur Shantakumar has urged the Government to build a Memorial for farmer leaders.

Speaking to press persons after attending a meeting at the DC’s office here recently, Shantakumar said that the Government had come forward for building Memorials for actors out of taxpayers’ money, but farmer leaders, who dedicated their entire life fighting for the welfare of farmers, are a ignored lot, he maintained and demanded that the Government build a Memorial for tall farmer leaders such as Prof. M.D. Nanjundaswamy, Sundaresh and K.S. Puttannaiah, at Bengaluru, as a mark of respect to them.
