Srirangapatna: A farmer, who had been to the mini canal of CDS Canal to water his crops, was drowned after he slipped and fell into the canal at K. Shettahalli on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased is Shivanna (55) of K. Shettahalli. As Shivanna did not return home even in the evening, his family members and relatives went near his agricultural field only to find him drowned in the canal.

He leaves behind his wife and one daughter. Last rites were performed at K. Shettahalli on Monday.
