Farmer ends life in Mandya

Mandya: A debt-ridden farmer committed suicide by consuming poison at Govindanahalli near Kikkeri at K. R. Pet taluk in the district this morning.

The deceased is Shekhar (43) of the village. He had borrowed Rs 4.5 lakh from banks. Following crop loss, the farmer is said to have taken the extreme step, according to Police. Kikkeri Police have registered a case.
